Since its inception, the attorneys at Ritt, Tai, Thvedt & Hodges have provided both employers and employees with diligent, effective representation. We represent clients at every stage of employment-related dispute resolution, whether before the Labor Commission or in private mediation, or in state or federal trial or appellate forums. The firm also counsels employers on hiring, training, termination, and other matters to minimize the risk of litigation in the first place.

In addition to representing employers, Ritt, Tai, Thvedt & Hodges has successfully defended individuals accused of harassment, discrimination and similar employment-related torts. In many instances, the firm has worked with or at the direction of some of the region’s most notable employment defense, as well as plaintiff-oriented, lawyers and law firms.

Ritt, Tai, Thvedt & Hodges prides itself on its vigorous representation of plaintiffs, not only defendants. We believe that by keeping our doors open to either side of an employment dispute, we continue to acquire insights that prove invaluable to our clients.

As a result, in addition to work on behalf of employers, Ritt, Tai, Thvedt & Hodges has also successfully litigated disputes on behalf of many individual plaintiffs who have been unfairly or wrongly terminated or treated unfairly in the workplace. Most recently, the firm negotiated two of the highest settlements in the history of the City of Pasadena on behalf of wrongfully terminated and/or harassed former employees of the city. The firm has also represented individuals in civil rights cases, and wage and hour class action lawsuits.

The firm’s reputation in employment law has earned recognition beyond the courtroom. Lawyers D. Jay Ritt, and Tiffany Tai, for example, have been invited to share their expertise at seminars on employment law issues, with fellow attorneys, as well as the greater business community.
